WEEK 8

During week 8, there are 2 actions we did to collect more books. First one is we placed 2 semi-transparent  plastic box at the side of the entrance of SLC Centre to collects the books once there are anyone wants to donate books. The poster already be placed in some of the lift but not every lift.

We need 2 boxes. One is for stationary and one is for books. Hence, I brought one of it from my home to save the cost of the box. Since I only have one, so Darren purchased one more box in case there are more books needed to fit inside. After few days the box be placed there, the box still empty and did not receive any books yet.

I tried to change the position of the box to outside a few places of SLC to make the box more obvious. A3 size of the poster also be pasted on the each of the box to give clear direction and instruction of how and where the books to be placed. We checked the box every day yet still empty.

efore  the weekend. Me and my team mate discussed and Mr Edwin suggest to have more initiative action which is approach to the students and give brochure to them. After discussion, we decide to print in A5 size color to give them.

At first, we distributed the brochure in front of the SLC, but there are too many stall that also trying to promote their products and event. Students were ignore and refused to take the paper and listen to us. Hence we tried to change the location of distribution to the Student Central and Taylors cafe area. The students there are usually waiting for their number and eating. therefore they were easier to approach.

In Student Central, one of the staff tell us we are not allowed to promote and distribute anything inside the central. I tried to explain to the staff that we were just trying to collect books for the children in Serendah. After that, he suggest that we placed a stack of brochure at the information counter.

We also tried to wider the group from students to the staff and lecturer in the campus. One of the staff at the cafeteria said she might able to donate some books from home but she cannot confirm with us that time as she need time to find the books. So I left my phone number to her and hope she can contact me soon.

Week 11 is transformation week. Most of the transformations such as painting, moving in of  new furniture, and arranging the  books on the book shelf was be done. I did not went to the site instead, me and my group mates were looking for as much books as we can during this week as this is the last week to collect books and we only collected 800 books even after collected the books from juniors. WEEK 5

     We had a class meeting with Mr Edwin to update our progress. For group books, we mainly focus on editing  the poster in terms of the fonts, the choice of the background color,  position of the pictures,  date of the collection date, grammar errors and the length of the sentence also will affect the outcome of the poster.        All the group leaders were gathered with Mr Edwin to update the progress and discuss the solution and next step to approach.       Besides that, the example of the final report of CSI also be shown in the class so that we will have an idea of how to elaborate our blog and how to design the booklet of report as we all suppose to have the same color scheme and language according to the design of logo. WEEK 12

Week 12 is the last week and launching week. All the results of preparation and hard work is going to be showed to the indigenous children and pass finally pass maintenance responsible to the person in charge in Serendah Village. There are few preparations that we need to do on the launching day which is decoration of the venue, cleaning the floors and tables, prepare the foods and tableware. All of the students in Group 1 decided to go earlier for the preparation. We arrived the library at 10.30 am . When first step into the library, the environment is so much comfortable and the condition of the furniture and the interior be improved a lot. When I sat down, I can feel the atmosphere that feel like want to study. Warm lighting tone, new and sturdy tables and chairs,all the books are be categorized in different type of  books with color coding.
