WEEK 5

     We had a class meeting with Mr Edwin to update our progress. For group books, we mainly focus on editing  the poster in terms of the fonts, the choice of the background color,  position of the pictures,  date of the collection date, grammar errors and the length of the sentence also will affect the outcome of the poster.


       All the group leaders were gathered with Mr Edwin to update the progress and discuss the solution and next step to approach.

      Besides that, the example of the final report of CSI also be shown in the class so that we will have an idea of how to elaborate our blog and how to design the booklet of report as we all suppose to have the same color scheme and language according to the design of logo. We dont know our logo yet so the poster that we designed to be pasted around the campus would not have logo so that this poster is by BIA semester 6 and not the entire CSI program.

These are the trial of the posters

1.First Trial


 2. Second Trial

  • All of the words is be aligned
  • The word 'YOU CAN MAKE A CHANGE' is be highlighted
  • The picture of the books and the interior of the library is be layered.
  • The font of the words is changed to be more readable fonts

     3.Third Trial

  • The picture of interior of the library is be removed and replaced with the picture of the children and the books is aligned on the kids into a curve shape represent the children needs the books
4. Forth Trial
  • Some grammar mistakes is be corrected at the instruction 
  • 'THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION' is added under the 'YOU CAN MAKE A CHANGE' sentence to show the appreciation to the donors. 
  • The edge of the picture of the children is be blurred so that it can blended well with the background of the poster

5. Fifth Trial


  • The Taylors University logo is shifted to the bottom left side of the poster 
  • The side of represent which is BIA sem 6, module code and the subject is be written at the right side bottom of the poster.

Week 11 is transformation week. Most of the transformations such as painting, moving in of  new furniture, and arranging the  books on the book shelf was be done. I did not went to the site instead, me and my group mates were looking for as much books as we can during this week as this is the last week to collect books and we only collected 800 books even after collected the books from juniors. Our target for this weeks is 200 books. The plan of giving brochure to collect books was not that effective as plan. This week, we tried to approach to the people other from Taylors University. I printed A5 size black and white brochure and ask one by one of my neighbor house. WEEK 12

Week 12 is the last week and launching week. All the results of preparation and hard work is going to be showed to the indigenous children and pass finally pass maintenance responsible to the person in charge in Serendah Village. There are few preparations that we need to do on the launching day which is decoration of the venue, cleaning the floors and tables, prepare the foods and tableware. All of the students in Group 1 decided to go earlier for the preparation. We arrived the library at 10.30 am . When first step into the library, the environment is so much comfortable and the condition of the furniture and the interior be improved a lot. When I sat down, I can feel the atmosphere that feel like want to study. Warm lighting tone, new and sturdy tables and chairs,all the books are be categorized in different type of  books with color coding. WEEK 6

This week we tried to find the manage department to ask  the permission for pasting the poster around the campus but we did not manage to see the officer due to they were not around. During the third time, an officer from another department gave us a contact number of the management department. We contact the people before we go so that we can ensure the people are in the office as most of the time they would not be around due to events and meetings. We also did a slide for Group 4 regarding the numbers of the bookshelf needed and the method of coding as they mention plan drawing task could not be proceed due to the lack of information of the coding method and the number of bookshelf. Hence book group had a meeting to discuss the number of shelf needed and the method of coding. The meeting outcome is the method of coding need to be easy to understand and easy to be made.
